Non-stop service from Moscow to Krakow to take off late April

08:07, 6 апреля 2012

From April 26, Aeroflot launches direct services from Moscow to Krakow, four times a week. Travel agents believe that this route will be popular with tourists, but only if the price is adequate.

According to General Director of Altses company Igor Chukanov, until now there were no direct flights to Krakow, which, along with Warsaw, is included in all major sightseeing itineraries to Poland. Not only will these direct connections simplify traveling to Krakow itself, but also to a nearby ski-resort of Zakopane. "By May holidays we have time to offer this route to FITs, and later we will include it in our main programs," - said Mr. Chukanov.

The Manager for Poland of Zharkov Tour company Marina Mataeva believes that the destination is especially attractive as a weekend getaway. In addition, in her opinion, with direct flights tour operators will have greater opportunities to generate various itineraries that will start or end in Krakow.

But it is the cost of tickets, as explained by experts interviewed by RATA-news, that will play the deciding role – will the tourists fly with this flight or not. According to some reports, the lowest round-trip price can be as high as 12 thousand roubles and till mid-April tickets for May and July will be available for 7-8 thousand roubles. "The best option would be if the price is locked in this range - note in the Polish section of the company Russian Express. - Otherwise, it will be more profitable to go through Warsaw. "For comparison, a return ticket to Polish capital on the flight of the national airline LOT costs 7-8 thousand rubles, which is the same as the train. Igor Chukanov said he hoped that at least for the first haul Aeroflot will offer low-cost fares.
