MFA called out to Russians for guard in Egypt

Inspired by the example of Tunisia the Egyptians organize mass protest manifestations in Cairo. As a result of collisions of the marchers and the police 3 persons were lost. Yesterday Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russian Federation suggested that the Russian citizens staying in the country should be cautious. «We point out that Russian citizens in Egypt should be very careful and guarded and avoid traveling to Cairo and other cities where political protests, meetings and demonstrations are possible in the nearest future », is said on the official site of the governmental agency.

The Cairo events did not influence anyhow sea resorts of Egypt, that are located within 6 – 7 hours drive from the capital. RIAN correspondent was assured by the Russian consulate in Egypt that there is no any danger for Russian tourists in connection with the latest developments in Egypt. «Resorts are absolutely safe for the tourists, no marches occurred there, no foreign tourists were harmed, no claims were filled in», - consulate reported.

Mostly Russian tourists visit Cairo within a one-day excursion, their market share in the hotels accommodation is pretty small, managers of travel companies cannot even estimate the percentage rate. According to the expert estimates around 10% of Russian tourists buy city tours to the capital. Some touroperators canceled the visits to the capital of Egypt to safeguard their tourists.
