Education and leisure in Malta is always in demand

08:07, 30 мая 2011

Usually the demand for all-season Malta is stable, the sales only get higher during summer months, whtn Russians seek to combine rest at sea with the opportunity to improve their English. However since the beginning of this season Vedi Tour Company records significant upturn in requests for the destination – up to 40%.

Malta department specialist of Vedi Tour Mr. Andrey Nosov believes that such an growth of demand is connected with adequate pricing policy of the island and wide variety of leisure opportunities. Packages prices stay on the same level. Having compared the price of standard 2-week itinerary Mr. Nosov determined that the prices had risen for just 2-3%. Vedi Tour has blocks of seats on Air Malta flights. The demand for the product is steady, the sales are good.

In summer Malta attracts holiday-makers, students and school children for whom it is a great opportunity to spend their vacation profitably. Many clients book a hotel for 14 days and half of this time they attend a language school. Nevertheless “beach” tourists prevail. Approximately 60% of Russians come for leisure, 30% - for education, the rest combine these two activities.

Most popular resort with Russians is St Julians located on the western coast of the island. Its prime features are well-developed infrastructure, vibrant night life, gastronomy paradise of numerous restaurants and small but sandy beach. “The latter is quite rare on the “stone” island. Those who prefer sandy beaches usually go to the North of Malta, however this region only allows peaceful stay within hotel walls and some sightseeing trips” – explains Andrey Nosov.

He has been observing that Russians choose various hotels, either budget or luxury accommodation in equal proportions. Some don’t really care where to stay, what they care about is sightseeing, learning English and having a great time.

By the beginning of the season Vedi Tour has extended its language centers and schools selection by 50%. “However on request we can put our tourists in any school on the island” – notes Andrey Nosov.
