Russia takes fourth place in trips to Malaysia

24.7 million foreign tourists visited Malaysia in 2010, including 32 thousand travelers from Russia, which is 9% more than in 2009. This puts Russia in fourth place after Britain, Germany and France. The figures were presented by the director general of Malaysia's office on tourism, Dato Hadji Azizan Hurdin at the meeting of the round table held within the framework of the Leisure-2011 trade fair in Moscow. Speaking about next year's plans, the director general voiced hope that his country will be visited by 25 million people, including at least 35 thousand tourists from Russia.

Dato Hadji Azizan Nurdin gave a positive description of Russian visitors. According to him, they come for 10 to 15 days, spend most of the time on the beach, but also like to go shopping, without trembling over every spent dollar, often and with great interest take part in cultural activities, visit historic landmarks.
