Moscow Vega became the first Best Western hotel in Russia

The Moscow Vega Hotel & Convention Center in Izmailovo joined the Best Western International hotel chain that comprises 4065 hotels in 82 countries.

According to Director General of the Vega Hotel Mr. Vladimir Maksimov the preparation for joining the “Best Western Family” took four months. This March the Hotel Consulting & Development Group that represents Best Western carried out a preliminary inspection of Vega. The inspection showed that the hotel’s service quality level, accommodation facilities and technical parameters meet Best Western’s requirements. “And as a result of Mystery Guest action Vega got unexpectedly high mark – 93.3% compliance with the chain’s standards” – says Mr. Maksimov.

Vega Hotel & Convention Center and Best Western International signed a contract that gives the hotel the brand, technologies, international standards and marketing support from Best Western and the chain includes Vega in its international booking system.

During the opening ceremony of Russia’s first Best Western Hotel the Chairman of Moscow Tourism and Hotel Industry Committee Mr. Sergey Shpilko called this event a significant step for the city’s hospitality industry: “Moscow and Russia welcomed another international hotel chain that widens the choice of the most important 3-star segment. What is also important is that Best Western Vega managed to solve one of the major issues in Moscow 3-star hotels – installing air conditioning system in hotel rooms”. Mr. Shpilko believes that Vega might give a boost to Izmailovo tourist cluster that includes hotel complex, near-by park, famous flea market and UEFA certified football stadium.

The Best Western Vega hotel offers almost 1000 rooms. As per Vladimir Maksimov’s estimations, joining the Best Western chain will allow the hotel to attract additional 15% foreign guests.
