Only 17% of Russians have travel passports
Analytical Center of Yuri Levada (Levada-Center) on March 16-19 this year conducted a nationwide survey among 1633 people aged 18+ from 130 settlements of 45 regions of the country.
It must be said that a Russian citizen wishing to travel abroad must obtain a special travel passport in addition to his national passport, which is used only inside the country. And as it turned out, only 17% of Russians have such a document. 70% of respondents reported that they have never traveled outside the former Soviet Union.
3% of respondents go abroad for business or vacation purposes several times a year, 4% - once a year, 9% - even less.
9% of respondents reported that previously they were beyond the borders of the country on business trips, and now don’t go anywhere. Another 10% used to go on vacation earlier, but now they don’t.
The statistical error of the data from these studies doesn’t exceed 3.4%.
