Greece handed out 30% more visas

Mouzenidis Travel Company, referring to Greek General Consulate in Moscow, has kindly provided RATA-news with a statistical breakdown on visas issued to Russian citizens in 2012. Over the previous year, the number of visas went 30% up compared to 2011 reaching 580 thousand. And the Consul-General of Greece Mr. Ioannis Plotas specified that the number of issued multiple entry visas grew by 90%.

 

Having studied the tour operator’s data on current state of bookings to Greece, Mr. Plotas came out with a preliminary forecast, according to which the market expects a 20% increase in the number of issued Greek visas for 2013. The General Consulate of Greece is considered one the most loyal and quick, as even during the summer season it manages to process applications within 48 hours.

 

According to the representative of Greek National Tourism Organization Mr. Pavlos Murmas, the number of issued visas grew up in Novorossiysk and Saint Petersburg, where another two of Greek Consulates are operating. Greek visa application centers are opened in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Ufa.
