The Russians have landed on the fourth place after French, German and Italian tourists in the number of arrivals to the Republic of Seychelles. The flow of Russian tourists to the islands grew 1.3% year-on-year to 6.3 thousand visitors in the first four months of 2013. And this is not a great performance at all as last year the tourist flow from Russia added as much as 55.3% to the previous year's results (13.5 thousand arrivals). Tour operators see the reason for that in the absence of direct flights this season. Last year the destination was served by Transaero airline, but the flight program was halted.
It's interesting that the tour operators are responsible for just a third of the total number of Russians heading to the Seychelles. The island are in demand with clients of the so-called "concierge companies". These good ladies and gentlemen stay exclusively at deluxe hotels. And since the destination is visa-free, it also attracts individual travelers. Their pick is mostly modest two-star properties.
