Over the last three years, the Russian tourist flow to Monaco has been showing a stable increase of 20%. And in terms of the overnights, Russia is currently ranked third after Italy and France. The latter figure has been constantly growing, too: if in 2009 the Russians spent 47.8 thousand nights in the world's second smallest state, last year the number reached 61.7 thousand – said the Head of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, Mr. Guillaume Rose, at a press-conference in Moscow.
According to his data, 45 thousand Russian tourists visited the Principality during the previous year. Out of the total volumes of the Russian-speaking market, the Russians' share amounts to 78%, followed by the Ukrainians with 15%, the Kazakhs (3%) and other CIS countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belorussia). "We are actively working in Russia to promote Monaco as an incentive destination. As for now, Russian businessmen in this respect are far behind corporate travelers from France, the USA and the UK," revealed the Head of the tourist office.
