The best in flop-an-egging will be determined during the worldwide fairy games

08:07, 20 марта 2012

For the first time in the history of our planet Worldwide Fairy Games will take place in a Russian town of Kirov on 18-20th May under the motto Let’s Make Fairy-Tale-Friends .

Such an unusual event was invented by Kirov’s recreation center The Flying Ship, which specializes in organizing tours around Vyatka Region and canoeing and rafting trips down the rivers of Kirov’s region. The center’s favorite brainchild is the Fairy Tales Reserve.

Unusual works began to appear in Kirov’s Zarechniy Park about five years ago. Under the canopy of trees a Goblin’s house, a real Flying ship, fancy museum of fairy-tale artifacts sprung up as if out of the ground and on the mirror-like surface of the lake has rocked the magic raft.

And last year in a stylish backwoods hut of the reserve made her home a mischievous funny girl named Kikimora Vyatskaya.

As the Flying Ship center’s director, Olga Lobastova, said that an absolute immersion in magic atmosphere provided by unique work of animators’ team is waiting for everyone who comes to the reserve.

The main visitors are, of course, children and pupils. At first they were only small inhabitants of Kirov and its’ surroundings, but now they’re joined by nearest regions as well. According to Mrs. Lobastova this New Year’s Eve the reserve was visited by 425 groups, each of up to 40 people, and on the Pancake week – by 185 groups. The Flying Ship has something to offer to grown-ups as well. Not long ago a team of 750 people was entertained here. The center has developed unusual corporate activities and team building programs for such events particularly. One can be inspirited only by its’ names – Ivan Kupala Night, Gypsy Wedding, Indian Trails, Mysterious Island. Olga Lobastova stressed that the range of activities both for children and grown-ups changes annually so that to bore neither the newcomers nor the regular customers.

As for the fairy-tale games, they will really be worldwide. Olga Lobastova said that the consent in principal to participation of Holland’s Zvart Pit who’s among Santa Clause’s retinue, the Swedish Pippi Longstocking and Karlsson, and Baron Munchausen from Germany has been reached. Russia will be represented by Grandfather Frost from Veliky Ustyug and Snow Maiden from Kostroma, Baba Yaga from Kukoboy, Gold Fish from Lapin Bor town in Vologodskaya region, delegation of mice from Mishkin. Papa Karlo and Buratino will come from Kaliningrad region along with a real Berendey king from Pereslavl-Zalesskiy. The games will be opened by costumized procession of fairy characters walking along the streets of Kirov and a huge variety of interactive platforms will be working in parks and squares.

The main event will take place on the territory of the Fairy Reserve on May 12. The games will begin, as usually, with the doping control but a humorous one. After that everyone will be able to compete in several fairy disciplines. Strict judges will determine who is the furthest in throwing magic clew and the fastest in running through the unknown paths, will reveal winners in “turniping” – extracting a turnip, flop-an-egging with golden eggs and Roly-Poly-bowling. At the same time competitions as fairy biathlon on Goblin’s glade and fairy regatta on Alyenushka’s lake will take place. About a dozen animation stations like rock climbing, archery and crossbow shooting galleries, raft skating, master classes with best craftsmen will take place. There will be where to eat, buy water and souvenirs for visitors.

After inviting everyone to the Worldwide fairy games Olga Lobasova stressed that there are restaurants and cafes serving high-quality food, a lot of interesting museums with rich collections in Kirov, and in the outskirts there’s a whole range of ancient cities proud of its history and real masterpieces of Russian architecture. One can relax in rather good hotels, for example, in one of the local hotel chain Londa, famous for its stylish rooms – sometimes it’s a Russian village hut, and sometimes it’s a traditional Japanese bedroom.

The president of Roza Vetrov company, Sergey Zenkin, has called the Worldwide fairy games project “freaky” pointing out that Vyatichi have demonstrated to the tourist market how exactly should event tourism be developed in our country. «We for sure will be selling tours to Kirov to visit the games,” – he concluded.
