Buryatia begins creating the new tourist brand

A meeting of Buryatia’s Administration officials with Japan’s largest travel company JTB and “Metropol” group of companies in Ulan-Ude resulted in the signing of an agreement that stipulates the creation of Buryatia’s brand new tourist image and its promotion on the Japanese travel market. The new attractive international image of Buryatia will be formed with help of state-of-the-art internet technologies, social networks and online video services.

The tourist product under the “Buryatia” brand is expected to be introduced on the Japanes travel market in spring 2012.

The JTB delegation will stay in Buryatia until August 20. The guests will examine local tourist spots and “Metropol’s” projects in the Baikal Region. For example, they will visit the new capital’s airport “Baikal” and the Buryatsky Business Center. The Japanese visitors will also see the construction site of the new multifunctional tourist complex “Baikalskaya Gavan’” (Baikal Harbor) not far from Tourka.
