Charter airconnection between Japan and
Kamchatka is set to be resumed this July. A
relevant agreement has been reached by Japan Air Travel Marketing company and
Russian inbound tour operator KamchatIntour. "In recent years, only
flights to Tokyo
were offered from the region. This year, however, there are going to be two
services to Osaka.
The routes will be operated by Yakutia Airline's brand new Sukhoi Superjet 100
(SSJ-100) aircraft with up to 100 seats.
Up to 700
Japanese tourists and up to 120 Russians are expected to arrive on the new
twice weekly flights over the scheduled period from July 8 to August 16.
An
agreement on direct charter flights from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Anchorage, Alaska
in July-August this year.
In 2014, Kamchatka welcomed 14.5 thousand tourists. Mostly from
the USA, Japan, and Canada.
