Russia offered Sweden to make a counter-move

08:07, 1 апреля 2011

Russian vice Prime Minister Mr. Sergey Ivanov hopes that Sweden would abolish visas for Russian citizens arriving by ferries. That was said during his visit to Stockholm. Reminding that all ferry passengers can stay in Saint Petersburg for 72 hours with no visa Mr. Ivanov expressed his hope that Sweden would adopt similar measures for the Russians, “however ideally it would be better to switch to visa-free regime”.

The visa concern was raised in connection with the new ferry route that connects Saint Petersburg and Stockholm. First ship departed on April 1. Vice prime minister revealed that the ferry, capable of carrying 2.5 thousand passengers, will be running twice a week.
